About this simulation

Planet positions are integrated with an N-body model from NASA JPL Horizons data, within about 3,400 km of JPL after 26 years. Past a few tens of millions of years the planets fade out: the Solar System is chaotic.

The Sun's spots follow the real 11-year cycle, fitted to USAF/NOAA sunspot records, and vanish in 1680, the Maunder Minimum. The spots themselves are realistic, not the actual ones.

8,404 real stars from the Yale Bright Star Catalogue. The Milky Way's arms are the 2019 Reid et al. maser fit, about two thirds extrapolated.
