Change your Tinder location on Android without Passport
Tinder shows you people near wherever your phone says it is. Its own way to swipe somewhere else, Passport, comes with Tinder Plus: about $24.99 a month in the US, and Tinder sets the price by your age and location. GPS Spoofer puts your phone anywhere for $10, once, with no root.
Passport or GPS Spoofer
| Passport | GPS Spoofer | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Tinder Plus, about $24.99 a month (US; varies) | $10 once |
| Allowed by Tinder | Yes | No (see the risks) |
| Setup | None | A few steps, once |
| Other apps | No | Yes, every app |
| Google login | Works | Not in a patched app |
| Root | Not needed | Not needed |
Can you change your Tinder location without paying monthly?
On Tinder itself, no: Passport comes with Tinder Plus, Gold and Platinum, which are paid subscriptions, and Tinder sets the price by your age and where you are. Without a subscription there are two ways to move your phone’s location. A free fake-GPS app costs nothing, but Android marks every location it supplies as a mock location, and any app can read that mark (more on that below). GPS Spoofer Full costs $10 once, with no monthly fee and no root, and keeps Tinder from seeing the mark. Using it with Tinder breaks Tinder’s terms (see the risks), so if the monthly price is fine for you, Passport is the safe choice.
How Tinder knows where you are
Tinder reads your phone’s location, and on Android it only holds that permission while it is on screen. We tested what that means in practice on a Samsung Galaxy S22+ running Android 16, not rooted, on 16 September 2026:
- Tinder picks up a new location each time you open it. Settings → Location showed the spoofed city after a plain reopen in 5 of 5 changes, including a quick change back. No force-stop or clearing needed.
- Cards already loaded keep the old city. After moving from Miami to Seattle, the top card still said “Lives in Miami, 1 mile away” 100 seconds later, and even after Tinder was force-stopped.
So check your location in Tinder’s Settings screen, opened fresh, not by the first few cards.
Why an ordinary fake-GPS app is not enough
Android marks every location that comes from a mock location app: Location.isMock() returns true, and any app can read it. That is how apps notice a plain fake-GPS app. The mock location guide covers the Android side in detail.
GPS Spoofer’s Full edition keeps Tinder from seeing that flag, without root, in one of three ways:
- Hide from Apps patches Tinder so its location checks see an ordinary fix. Android needs the original Tinder uninstalled and the patched copy installed in its place; the app walks you through both, and you log in again afterwards.
- Container mode runs Tinder inside a container app that hands it the location unflagged. Tinder’s data and login inside the container are separate from a normal install.
- ADB stealth is a one-time setup from a computer that hides Developer Options and the mock location setting from apps that check.
On a phone rooted with Magisk and Zygisk there is also an optional module that does this for every app at once.
Step by step
- First, if you log into Tinder with Google, switch it to phone number or email login. A patched Tinder can’t use Google Sign-In, and you could be locked out.
- Buy GPS Spoofer Full. Your download link arrives by email; install the APK.
- Open GPS Spoofer and follow its two setup steps: turn on Developer Options, then select GPS Spoofer as the mock location app.
- Open Hide from Apps, tap Tinder, and follow the steps: patch, uninstall the original, install the patched copy. Or use Container mode instead.
- Pick a place on the globe and tap Spoof Here.
- Open Tinder, log in, and check Settings → Location. Expect the first cards to be from your old spot.
The risks, plainly
Tinder’s Terms of Use forbid using “any third-party applications or services that directly interact with our Services” without Tinder’s written consent, and forbid modifying any part of its app (section 2c). Tinder may “suspend, terminate, or ban your account” without notice if it believes you broke them (section 9). Using GPS Spoofer with Tinder breaks those terms, and the account risk is yours. Passport carries none of that risk; if the monthly price is fine for you, it is the safe choice.

Also works with other apps
The same app and the same $10 covers every app on your phone:
